A Delicious Iced KEMOSABE Gourmet Coffee Treat After Cutting The Grass

Posted by Southwest Beverages on 8/12/2015

One of the reasons Carol and I moved to Littleton, Colorado was to take advantage of the many outdoor activities nature provided. All week long I was looking forward to hiking the Meadowlake Trail in Deer Creek Canyon with her on Saturday. Saturday morning arrived and the weather was glorious-sunny, seventy-two degrees with low humidity. A perfect day for a hike, or so I thought. It seems that I had forgotten all about Carol wanting me to go mattress shopping with her since her sister was coming to visit on Wednesday and wouldn’t appreciate sleeping on our beautiful hardwood floor.

“Still time to salvage the hike,” I thought to myself as we walked out of the Mattress Kingdom store at 11:20 AM. Five minutes later we were in our car heading home on the Santa Fe Drive enjoying the spectacular scenery the parallel South Plate River had to offer. Our moment of tranquility suddenly became disrupted when brake lights started to appear at W. Arkansas Avenue, grew more intense at W. Louisiana Avenue and halted us near W. Mississippi Avenue. For one-hour and twenty-five minutes we sat idle in our car during which time we saw several emergency vehicles travel north on the service road.

After having lunch at the Sandwich Board, we finally arrived home at 2:40 PM. Frustrated that my day was ruined, I turned to my inner self to seek, “manly” gratification so I decided to mow the lawn. As late afternoon had begun to turn to early evening, from a distance I saw Carol standing on the porch next to two mason jar glasses of beverages she had rested on the porch railing. As I approached, she called out, “The lawn never looked so good honey. Why don’t you take a break? I made our favorite drink-iced mocha flavored gourmet coffee.”

“I’ll be there I a minute,” I replied. “I just need to re-mow one or two of these rows. They’re not straight!”
