“What a pleasant surprise,” my neighbor and best friend
Amanda said when she walked into my kitchen and saw a delicious plate of hot
chocolate stuffed french toast topped with strawberry’s and powdered sugar that
I had made for myself and was just about to enjoy.
“Would you like some?” I asked.
“Susan, honestly these look to good to eat. But yes, I would
like some.”
While Amanda was watching me prepare her plate she asked,
“What’s in the French toast?”
“Actually it’s hot chocolate.”
“What an interesting idea. Where did you get the recipe?”
“As you know I love to cook so I have recipes for almost any
subject. This recipe is from my recipes that use hot cocoa mix collection.
Remember years ago, Amanda, before computers came into being we would have a
little recipe box with our hand written recipes on them. Well now I have all my
recipes categorized by subject. I’ll show you after breakfast” I said as I
handed Amanda her plate of strawberry covered hot chocolate French toast and we
both headed for my kitchen table.
“That was absolutely delicious, Susan.” Now can you show me
your recipes that use hot cocoa mix collection on your computer. I definitely
want to use this French toast recipe this weekend as a surprise treat for my
husband.”
“He’ll love it, Amanda.”
Ingredients
2 pieces’ French toast
1 container of fresh strawberries
Powdered Sugar
2 ounce of high quality chocolate syrup
1-1.97 ounce Sippity hot cocoa mix chocolate cinnamon single
serve envelope
Preparation
·
Make 2 pieces’ French toast.
·
Heat 2 ounce of high quality chocolate syrup in
small sauce pan.
·
Stir into syrup in sauce pan one envelope of
Sippity chocolate cinnamon hot cocoa mix; stir until dissolved.
·
Let chocolate syrup mix settle for two minutes.
·
Spread chocolate cinnamon syrup mixture onto one
slice of French toast bread.
·
Top with second slice of French toast bread; cut
in half.
·
Place fresh sliced strawberries on top of French
toast bread.
·
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
·
Enjoy.
