“Let me ask you a question, Chloe” my best friend stated to
me as we stood in my kitchen in the middle of the afternoon drinking coffee,
while waiting for the school bus to drop our kids off. “Why is it that every time
I come over here you have such delicious coffee?”
“Olivia, whenever I come to your house you always give me a
cup of delicious coffee.”
“It’s no where as good as this coffee, which is what I don’t
understand. I have the most expensive Keurig coffee machine and I only buy good
quality k-cups.”
Jokingly, I replied, “Well Olivia at least your heading in
the right direction.”
“How’s that?’
“You’re buying k-cups.”
“I don’t understand.”
“You asked me a minute ago why I have such delicious coffee.
Well it’s a simple two-step process. The first step is to purchase Kemosabe
gourmet flavored coffee. Since there are twelve single serve envelopes to a box,
you get twelve “K-Cups” of coffee.
“That’s cute, Chloe, ‘K Cups’, she replied smiling. “What’s
the second step?”
“Hah, Olivia, that’s where the secret lies to making
delicious coffee. Let me show you.”
“Would you.”
“First, you take your favorite mug and fill it with eight
ounces of water. Then you microwave it for ninety seconds. Next you remove the
mug from the microwave and gently pour in your favorite flavor of Kemosabe
gourmet coffee stirring it as you pour. This is my favorite, chocolate
hazelnut, but Kemosabe coffee also comes in mocha, chocolate cinnamon,
chocolate Irish cream and crème butterscotch flavors.”
“Crème butterscotch, I bet that’s delicious,” Olivia
injected.
“It is. It will remind you of when you used to go to your
grandmother’s house as a little girl and you took a few butterscotch candies
from her candy dish. Anyway, after you stir in the coffee, you’re done.”
“That’s it!”
“That’s it.”
“You’re telling me, Chloe, that’s the secret to your
delicious coffee.”
“No, actually there’s one more thing.”
“What’s that?”
“After you make the coffee, take a few sniffs and enjoy the aroma.
Then cradle your hands around the mug and slowly enjoy it. That’s what makes
delicious coffee.”
