When I created Sippity gourmet hot chocolate mix I created
it out of passion, passion for the joy I received while I watched my children
enjoy a nice, warm mug of hot chocolate after they had come in from playing in
the snow on a cold winters day. That was how it started, with one
flavor-chocolate. Since then I added Sippity chocolate marshmallow gourmet hot
chocolate mix to the Sippity product range because as my children began to grow
from 5-8 year olds to 9-12 year olds they wanted something different while
still retaining the chocolate flavor they came to enjoy.
As my children, and now their friends, grew in age to become
young teenagers they wanted a “more sophisticated” flavor of hot chocolate. To satisfy
their demand I created two seasonal Sippity gourmet hot chocolate mix flavors-pumpkin
spice for the fall and chocolate peppermint for the winter. Needless to say, my
children and their friends enjoyed each of the two new seasonal flavors so much
that it seemed every day when my kids got off the school bus more and more of
their friends got off with them.
Before I knew it my kids were heading off to college. Of
course I sent them a continuous supply of Sippity gourmet hot chocolate
mix-chocolate, chocolate marshmallow, pumpkin spice and chocolate peppermint
such that when parents weekend came around I was greeted as if I was Neil
Armstrong and had just returned from landing on the moon. To be honest I don’t
know if I loved the attention my kids and their new college friends were giving
me or the fact that I was quickly becoming a celebrity on campus and around the
neighborhood.
During Christmas break my kids and parents helped me create
two new Sippity gourmet hot chocolate mix flavors-chocolate raspberry and
chocolate strawberry. When we tested these flavors with neighbors friends and
my husband’s work colleagues they all loved it. Many suggested that I market it
as some form of Valentines gift. So come one week before Valentine’s Day I
prepared twenty-two gift baskets containing the full range of Sippity gourmet
hot chocolate mix flavors, including the two news flavors-chocolate strawberry
and chocolate raspberry, cut little paper hearts, packaged them up and sent
twelve packages to my son who was a junior at the University of Arizona, and my
ten to my daughter who was a freshman at the University of Tennessee.
To make a long story short this is how I came to create the
many flavors of Sippity gourmet hot chocolate mix for people of all ages.
