Everyone Will Notice-KEMOSABE Mocha Flavored Coffee

“I’ll be with you in a minute,” my wife Nora called out from the kitchen where she was just finishing preparing two 20-ounce thermos of Kemosabe mocha flavored coffee.

“Come on,” I called back. “I can’t keep being late for work. Mr. Larson is getting annoyed that we’re all coming in late,” I added, referring to the fact that the owner of HRD Tire Care, Mr. Lawson, told us just yesterday that work starts at 7:00 AM, not 7:10 AM.

“One minute, Dylan!” Nora called back. “Do you want your mocha flavored coffee or not?” she whispered as she was tightening the lids of the thermos.

Five minutes later Nora and I were in our car, enjoying our mocha flavored coffee and on our way to work. Suddenly, as we were approaching the intersection of Lakeland and 47^th Street, a bird hit our windshield, forcing Nora to have a jerk reaction spilling some of her mocha flavored coffee. “Oh my goodness,” I called out. “That small sparrow that is hobbling across the intersection just hit our car.”

“What are we going to do, honey?”

“Well, if we leave it there it’s sure to get run over in the next minute, once the light changes. Here. Hold my thermos of mocha flavored coffee. I’m going to get the bird.” With that I exited the car and approached the little sparrow in the middle of the intersection that was flapping it wings in a frantic attempt to fly. As I looked up traffic from all four directions was at a standstill. People were outside their cars watching me cup my hands around the sparrow and pick it up. “Don’t worry, little fella,” I told the bird as I made my way back to my car to the applauses of the on-lookers, “Everything will be fine. I’ll take care of you.”

“Oh my goodness,” Nora stated as I got into the car and handed the bird to her outreached cupped hands. “She's hurting,” she added as she began to gently stroke the birds back.

“Why don’t you put your finger into your container of mocha flavored coffee and gently put the coffee to her beak.

“She seems to like it, Dylan.”

“That’s nice. Nora, why don’t you drop me off at work and then go home and take care of “Mocha”.

“What a cute name, honey.”

To make a long story short, over the next two weeks Nora nursed “Mocha” back to health giving her love, attention and a daily sip of mocha flavored coffee.
