“Hi Gloria, nice to see you again,” I said as I approached
the reception counter at Fresche’s Hair Salon in Bel Air, California. “I’m here
for my 10:00 AM appointment with Dwayne.
“Nice to see you again, Robert,” the receptionist replied. “Dwayne
will be with you in a few minutes. He’s running a little late,” she added. “May
I get you some coffee?”
Knowing from past experience I knew fair well to ask what
kind of coffee since Fresche’s takes great pride in serving its customers only
the best of everything, beginning with their coffee. “That would be great” I
replied, as I headed towards a seat in the reception area.
“Do you like flavored gourmet coffee?
“Yes, that sounds lovely. What flavors do you have?”
“Well, Robert,” the receptionist began, “We just started
serving Kemosabe flavored gourmet coffee to our customers about two weeks ago
and everyone is raving about it. We have six flavors-mocha, chocolate cinnamon,
chocolate hazelnut, chocolate irish cream, French vanilla and crème butterscotch.”
“They all sound delicious, but I think I’ll try the crème butterscotch,
since it’s a flavored gourmet coffee I never had.”
“Excellent choice, Robert. Of the six flavors that my favorite.”
“And mine also,” Dwayne stated as he turned the corner from
the salon area and approached me with his hand extended to greet me. “Come on
back and the receptionist will bring your crème butterscotch flavored gourmet
coffee back when it’s ready,” he stated to the receptionist. “And I’ll have one
as well,” he added.
Shortly after Dwayne had washed my hair and I was comfortably
seated in the chair at his work station, the receptionist handed me my coffee.
Wow! this is delicious,” I stated with enthusiasm after I had taken the first
sip.
Dwayne then raised his container of crème butterscotch
gourmet coffee towards mine and stated, “Hairs to a good day.”
