Intensity Goes Smooth All Day Long-SIPPITY Hot Chocolate

Posted by Southwest Beverages on 4/8/2016

So today started out like any other cold morning in Littleton, Colorado, I made a six-teen ounce thermos of Sippity chocolate marshmallow hot chocolate, grabbed my coat, got in my car and headed for work. Every morning when I’m driving out of my neighborhood I turn left. On this particular morning when I was exiting my neighborhood I stopped at the stop sign, took a sip of my Sippity chocolate marshmallow hot chocolate, looked right, saw no traffic to the point where the road turned, about 200 yards, then made a left turn and proceeded to make my way towards the light at the end of the street.

Suddenly this “lady” in a gray pick-up comes roaring up behind my car to the point where her truck was almost touching my cars bumper. Taking another sip of my marshmallow hot chocolate I then said to my wife, “Why do people insist on driving right on your tail, particularly when they can clearly see that the light ahead is red and they have to slow down.”

So now I pull behind the third car in line waiting for the red light to change. I look into my rear-view mirror and this “lady” has both arms extended in the air yelling at me. Calmly I took another sip of my hot chocolate, returned it to its cup holder, then raised my arms pointing in the direction of the red light, while looking at her through my rear view mirror.

The lesson to be learned from my encounter this morning is several. First, this “lady” was clearly running late for work and as a result was taking her tardiness out on any, and all, drivers in front of her, when all she had to do to reduce the amount of stress she was causing to herself and others on the road was get up five minutes earlier. Second, do not engage in road rage. Third, don’t let an event like this ruin your day. I didn’t. After the road widened to two lanes and she passed me, I took another sip of my hot chocolate and I must admit, that sip tasted delicious. As a matter of fact, the smooth creamy taste of the rich chocolate combined with marshmallow flavor seemed to diminish the intensity with which the morning drive had begun such that for the balance of the day I made several more containers of hot chocolate and enjoyed each one.
